~~~Never Scared~~~

This isn’t my first time
Just never been scared before
Been close to death many times
Just never had so many reasons to live before

Oh I had people depending on me
But that’s not the same
Now I have people that actually need me
Now I have love

It wasn’t so hard before
I knew as a small child
The Doctor at the door
This one is born to die

Never really mattered if I’d die
Never really cared before
I was already on my way to his side
Death was just another day

Hell, He had nothing to scare me with
Didn’t matter when he’d come
Who would be afraid of puny Death
After I’d already lived this way,	

Now all I want is more
Life was so less scary 
When I had nothing to live for
What a sweet curse

My sweet blessing
Your Love gives me life
My new destiny
A reason to want to go on

~~~Possessed~~~
Possession nine tenths of the law
Here comes the judge, jury, executioner
Here she comes
Swaying in here to condemn me

Here She comes to lay down judgment 
I throw myself on the mercy of the court
Watch her sweet cruel lips twist and confirm it
Life with no chance of parole 

Hard labor in the sweet salt mines
Possession is nine tenths of the law
I love the punishment she has in mind
Here she comes she owns it all

She’s got the keys to let me free
Oh lord here she comes to take me down
But ain’t no way that could be
I snatch them free and throw them down

Possessing everything a man could ever need
In her hands the judgments clear
Possessing every single bit of me
Lord I ain’t ever leaving here

~~~Soul Deep~~~

I got a soul deep craving
Not so sure if it’s heaven sent
Taking hold of me
Moving me forward 
On through the lonely night
Following this ache 
Because the need is greater
Than caution could hold back
Not sure if this is heaven or hell
But I’m headed for the door 
As fast as I can I’m coming
Charging into the clearing
Wrapping into you
What ever it is
Wherever we are
This is where I have to be
Not a want
Not just a need
It’s an ache that’s soul deep 
It’s a craving that I can’t shake
I may never know 
Just how the other side works
Not sure it matters
All I know is this is what cures the hurt

What crime did I ever commit
To receive this sentence
Pain with out reward
No glory born story to tell
Just an old man battered by time and worn

What sin did I commit 
When I had yet to be born
For all these things piled 
Waiting to rack my bones
The things that made me so old at this early age

What atrocity did my soul commit
What God did I forget to show favor to
To have this many lifetimes problems
So many demons and angels wrath
Why was I chosen to walk this rock filled bloody path

~~~Shattered Glass~~~

I see it all so clear
I used to peer into the looking glass trying to find the answer
I used a hammer shattered the lens 
Let myself out and found you instead

All of these things I thought I needed
So many days I sat wanted
So many things I shunned and abandoned
Then I Let myself out and loved you 

I went from alchemy and spirits invoked
To worshipping something
Something I could sink my heart into
I crashed my cage and let me love you

Some say I’m possessed 
I hope it’s true
Because the sweetest part of my life
Started when I met you

My old glass heart shiny pretty and fake
Battered broken useless
With a soft word and a touch
You broke the real one loose 
 
I finally could see what beauty is
I’m finally free 
I understand what living is
We broke the cage and you let me love

Just hearing her breathe

Just to hear her laugh

This is so much farther

You’ve never looked into her eyes
Found yourself measuring yourself

This ragged old warrior 
Looks into your face

This old heart

This young boy

That you always give me

Yes I am your demon
How could I be anything else
I speak soft sweetly and to your heart
I build brighter tomorrows
I must be inherently evil
How could one so full of love be real
Yes I am your Demon
Bristling with sunlight drenched hair
Smiling at you with no want but your touch
I ask for no oath
I must be evil
As I lay here dreaming of you
Holding your hand and kissing it slow
It’s so plain to see that I must be the one 

The ancient ones they tell you they know
Look at his deceiving eyes
So filled with love for you
The way he tells you that he love
We ancients never fawned over you
Who are gods to adore you
Look how he cherishes your touch
He is so impure filled with LOVE
It’s really hard for gods to watch
We’ll leave you with HIM if you wish
That evil soul that needs you

~~Creepy Old Man~~
Strapped to his sides the swords seem more like scars than tools.
They are aged and grown over with time..
Ancient and surely not as violent now as they were when created
They scream of a past that is intriguing and a bit off kilter

This old man creeping about the woods
His blue green eyes twinkle with flecks of gold in them
His battered violet and golden shield haphazardly thrown on his back
A bird that never existed etched upon its face

His gauntlets a deep blue that has faded appearing to be a fishes skin
He almost looks like he grew up out of the swamp he travels
As much a part there as the water and the snakes
And yet he is as foreign as a diamond in a hog trough

His graying hair streaked with blond pulled back and tied with twine
A mild curiosity at best he seems to be, at worst a crazed old man
Guarding all that he knows is dear, children, family, far and near
He sees the way they look at him and he smiles behind the tears

A warrior this clown once was and once again shall be
He slides away into the swamp for work he has to do
They perhaps will never know or recognize his love
But that is not the reason he lives the life he does

Half past dead
Couldn’t be any weaker if you opened my veins
Half past dead
This evil thought keeps routing my brain

Every time I think it’s gone 
It stands up and kicks in the door
This painful thing
I scream I can’t take any more

Half past dead
Why must all of them fall
Half past dead
This sweet noise isn’t Satan’s call

I fight it down
The screams seem to bubble up in my mouth
I know I’ve been found
I throw–up bile and sweet curses flow forth

I’m Half past dead
No I couldn’t just fall
Half past dead
I’ll come for them all

My thoughts calm down
The rage subsides leaving a dangerous mind
In the air, not a single sound
From the crypt I creep knowing it’s my time
